astrometro history

astro metro got together in 2001, when long time australian collaborators Sean Hall (vocals) and Joshua Stewart(bass) met in Prague, Czech Republic with Dandy Frutty (guitar) and Jan Podzimek(drums). starting with an acoustic line up, they spent several months gigging in Prague to refine their style, sound and approach. they quickly discovered their potential as a serious electric outfit with their original mix of r&b, hip hop, rock and soul. this combination of styles and dedication to song writing brought attention to astro metro from labels, promoters and audiences alike; and in the summer of 2002 they cut their teeth on bigger stages with top line acts Ozzy osbourne, Tool and Slayer.

in close collaboration with Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke) and Hugo 'huge' Nichollson (Primal Scream), astro metro redefined their style and approach which has become their signature sound. they are currently working on their debut release, of which some rough mixes can be heard on the music page.
